He purchased CV Pacific Lumber Company and renamed it PT Barito Pacific Lumber Company. Later on, Prajogo expanded into other industries like hospitality, pulp, and paper. The company became PT Barito Pacific when it went public in Indonesia in 1993.
Later on, the company expanded into power generation and petrochemical manufacturing as its primary business. In 2018, it obtained a greater part of the world’s third-biggest geothermal organisation, Star Energy. PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical, Indonesia’s largest petrochemical company, is controlled by PT Barito Pacific.
