Irving is the proprietor of Irving Oil, the administrator of Canada’s biggest processing plant. Arthur L. Irving was born into a strong business family in New Brunswick, Canada. Arthur was given the charge of running Irving Oil, the family’s refining, distribution, and marketing business in New Brunswick and the Maritime provinces nearby when he was a young man. DeMont stated Irving ran the business with hands-on rigour in an interview with Bloomberg News in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in November 2013. He did this by surprise inspection stations for cleanliness and making sure the napkins in the retail shops of the stations were larger than those of his rivals.
