The zoomed-in video of her lip-syncing and rhythmically bouncing to the song went viral, becoming TikTok’s most liked video of all time. In the months following her TikTok triumph, she developed a YouTube channel and a Twitter presence.
Poarch’s rising popularity peaked in December 2020, when she reportedly sparked the interest of two big professional Esports organizations – 100 Thieves and FaZe Clan – in her, a gamer and live broadcaster simultaneously working as content producers under their respective brands. Warner Records signed a record agreement with Poarch in May 2021.
Bella Poarch Controversy
Korean social media users chastised Poarch in September 2020 for wearing a tattoo resembling the Rising Sun Flag in her videos. The tattoo resembled a sign of Japanese imperialism, which East Asians find objectionable. She apologized and got it covered before removing it. In 2019, Poarch married fellow sailor Tyler Poarch. In November 2022, she filed for divorce from him.
