Robert E. Rich Jr. born in 1941 is an American businessman, author and philanthropist. Rich Products Corporation (Rich’s), a significant food processing company with its headquarters in Buffalo, New York, is currently held by him as chairman of the board and majority owner.
Bob Rich Career
Robert E was born on January 25, 1941. He joined his father’s business, Rich Products, in 1964 as president of a new subsidiary, Rich Products of Canada. Rich was also a member of the Army Reserve Officer school staff and a member of the United States National Guard from 1963 to 1969.
In 1969, he also graduated with honours from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School with an MBA. That year, he moved to the American headquarters of Rich, where he became Vice President of Sales and Marketing and established the company’s first marketing department.
In 1978 he was named Leader of Rich’s. Rich was an investor and a member of the Buffalo Sabres’ inaugural board of directors in 1969. Later, he became the vice chairman of that professional hockey team. The Buffalo Bisons, a minor league baseball team, were acquired by Rich Products Corp. in 1983.
The Toronto Blue Jays AAA affiliate is the Bisons. Additionally, Rich owns the West Virginia Black Bears, founding members of the Major League Baseball Draft League, as well as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, the Kansas City Royals AA affiliate. Rich is a member of the University of Rochester’s Trustees Council and the chairman of those three baseball teams.
