George Rosenberg Roberts is an American agent. He is one of the three unique accomplices of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), which he helped to establish close by Jerome Kohlberg and his first cousin Henry Kravis in 1976. American financier and philanthropist George Roberts was born in Houston, Texas. Roberts moved on from Culver Military Organization in 1962 and proceeded to procure a degree from Claremont McKenna School in 1966.

Roberts is best known as one of the three original partners of the global investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR). Roberts became a partner at the age of 29 after working for Bear Stearns in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Roberts, Kohlberg, and Kravis started a series of what they called “bootstrap” investments while working at Bear Stearns.

In 1964, they bought Orkin Exterminating Company, which was one of the first significant leveraged buyout deals. Before very long, the three Bear Stearns financiers would finish a progression of buyouts including Harsh Metals (1965), Incom (a division of Rockwood Worldwide, 1971), Shoemakers Enterprises (1971), and Boren Earth (1973) as well as Thompson Wire, Hawk Engines and Carts through their interest in Harsh Metals.

The $27 million investment in Cobblers ended in bankruptcy, despite the fact that they had a number of investments that were extremely profitable.
