Jeff Bezos is an American entrepreneur and the world’s third-richest man. Born in 1964 to parents Jacklyn and Ted Jorgensen, Bezos was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
After graduating from Princeton University in 1986, he moved to Seattle and founded Amazon in 1994 as an online bookstore business. Early Life
Jeff Bezos had an interesting childhood; he was born to a teenage mother in rural New Mexico and raised by his stepfather in Houston, TX. His family didn’t have much money while he was growing up, so they instilled in young Jeff the value of frugality and hard work.
He worked odd jobs growing up, like delivering newspapers or cutting grass to bring extra income into the household. Jeff was an avid reader who always had high aspirations; at age 10, he even invented an alarm system which later won him his first patent!
Despite his lower-income condition, Jeff made it through school with flying colours – graduating first in his class from Miami Palmetto High School and then receiving degrees from Princeton University in electrical engineering and computer science.

Beyond his success at Amazon, Jeff Bezos achieved several impressive feats in his life. Bezos was part of a team that developed the first commercialized website in 1994 – Amazon.com was its first customer!
Secondly, Bezos owns the largest private landholding in the United States – 420,000 acres of land spread out over 6 states! Most recently, he successfully launched the launch system Blue Origin into space for the first time in July 2019.
