Carl Stefan Erling Persson is a billionaire businessman in Swedish. Persson was the chairman of the fashion company H&M until May 2020, when he was succeeded by his son. He remains the organisation’s biggest investor, claiming a 36% stake. Erling Persson, his father, established the business in 1947. He was present when H&M opened its first store in London in 1976. When his father became the chairman of the board, Persson assumed the role of H&M’s managing director and CEO in 1982.
Persson, the founder of Mentor Foundation, is devoted to the cause of preventing substance abuse among young people through a non-profit organisation. Also, he is a supporter of Djurgardens IF and is also contributing towards funding a foundation for the club. In his leisure time, Persson indulges in skiing, tennis and golf.
