Alexa Demie is an American actress and singer. She is known for her role as Madeleine “Maddy” Perez on the HBO teen drama TV series Euphoria. Demie made her featured film debut with a minor role in the comedy show Brigsby Bear in 2017 preceding featuring in the transitioning film Mid90s in 2018 and the dramatization film Waves in 2019. She has also shown up in various music videos.

Demie made her debut as a video vixen in the 2013 music video for Azealia Banks’ song “ATM Jam.” She got the lead role in The Godmother, a failed biopic about Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, in 2015 after appearing in a friend’s short film. Her first role as a professional actor came in the 2015 short film Miles, where she found her representation from an agency. She then appeared as a guest star on the television series Ray Donovan and Love and as Ingrid, a bilingual gamer, in the second season of The OA.

Demie gained attention for her supporting role as Esmee, the protagonist’s love interest, in Jonah Hill’s 2018 film Mid90s. Augustine Frizzell emailed Demie about an audition for the HBO drama series Euphoria, where she was directing the pilot episode, a year after Demie had an unsuccessful audition. Demie was going to take a break from acting to focus on her music career, but she was impressed by the series’ script and decided to apply for an audition.
