In June 2019 she began dating American model Anwar Hadid, and the couple broke up in December 2021. In 2023, she began dating French film director Romain Gavras.

Reggae band Artikal Sound System filed a lawsuit against Lipa and her label Warner Records on March 1, 2022, alleging copyright infringement, citing similarities between “Levitating” and their 2017 song “Live Your Life.” The claim was disclaimed with prejudice in June 2023. A second lawsuit was filed by songwriters L. Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer, who claimed that “Levitating” infringed on their 1979 dance hit “Wiggle and Giggle All Night.”
