About Josh Harris

American private equity investor, sports team owner, and philanthropist Josh Harris was born and raised in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. In 1986, he graduated from the Wharton School with a degree in economics. After that, he worked for the investment bank Drexel Burnham Lambert.

In 1988, he left to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School. After graduating from Drexel in 1990, Harris co-founded Apollo Global Management with former coworkers Leon Black and Marc Rowan. He oversaw the company’s day-to-day operations until 2022, when he left to concentrate on other ventures, primarily in the sports business.
