Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, also known as Lil Tecca, is a rapper and vocalist from the United States. His 2019 single “Ransom,” which debuted at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, catapulted him to mainstream recognition. The song appeared on his debut mixtape, We Love You Tecca (2019), which reached number four on the US Billboard 200.

The tracks “Love Me” and “Did It Again” were also included on the mixtape. Virgo World (2020), his debut studio album, arrived at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and includes the Billboard Hot 100 charting hits “Dolly” and “When You Down.”

Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002, in the New York City borough of Queens to Jamaican parents. He grew up in Queens’ Springfield Gardens neighborhood before moving to Long Island’s Cedarhurst. Since he was a child Sharpe had dreams of playing in the NBA, but around the age of 12, he decided to pursue a career in music.

Tecca indulged his musical curiosity when he was nine years old by rapping with his friends over his Xbox mic. They would produce diss recordings aimed at each other, two of which were uploaded to SoundCloud years ago but were later removed. Tecca released his first mixtape, on August 30, 2019 “We Love You Tecca.” The mixtape peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 in the United States.

Tecca’s first album, Virgo World, was released on September 18, 2020, following the release of several singles in 2020. Tecca and American rapper Gunna released the track “Repeat It” on August 6, 2021. Tecca released his second studio album on August 27 2021, We Love You Tecca 2, following up on his initial mixtape, We Love You Tecca. He later joined Tana, Bktherula, and YvngxChris on the Tecca Loves You Tour.
