American businessman, investor, producer of motion pictures, philanthropist, media personality, and author Mark Cuban. Cuban co-founded the internet streaming service Broadcast.com, which he sold to Yahoo! in 1999, for $4.8 billion. Cuban was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His dad, Norton Cuban, was a vehicle upholsterer. Cuban depicted his mom, Shirley, as somebody with “an alternate work or different vocation objective each and every other week.”

Cuban is Jewish, and spent childhood in Mount Lebanon, a suburb of Pittsburgh, in a Jewish common family. After his family immigrated from Russia via Ellis Island, his paternal grandfather changed the name to “Cuban.” Mark’s brother Brian claims that his maternal grandparents were Romanian Jewish immigrants, despite Mark’s assertion that their maternal grandmother was Lithuanian.
