Egyptian businessman Naguib Onsi Sawiris is a billionaire. Through his closely held company, La Mancha Resources, Naguib Sawiris has ownership interests in gold mines. He is also the former chairman and CEO of Orascom Telecom Holding and Orascom Investment Holding S.A.E., and he is chairman of the parent company of Weather Investments. The oldest of Yousiriyya and Onsi Sawiris’ three sons, Naguib Sawiris was born on June 15, 1954, in Egypt. His father, a lawyer’s son, established a construction business in 1950 that grew to become one of Egypt’s biggest contractors, constructing rivers and highways in Egypt’s upper Nile region.

El Nasr Civil Works Company was the new name given to the company after President Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalised it in 1961. Naguib joined the family business in 1979, subsequent to learning at the German Zealous School of Cairo and procuring an Expert in the specialised organisation from the Swiss Government Establishment of Innovation in Zurich.

At Orascom, Naguib extended the organisation’s tasks into IT and broadcast communications.
