About Anna Kendrick
Anna Cooke Kendrick is an American actress who was born on 9 August 1985. Her father worked in finance as well. She has English, Irish, and Scottish ancestors. Her older brother is an actor who starred in the drama film Looking for an Echo (2000). She went to Deering High School.
Her first main role was in the Broadway musical High Society in 1998, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She made her cinematic debut in the musical comedy Camp in 2003 and then appeared as a supporting character in The Twilight Saga 2008-2011.
Kendrick began her career as a child, auditioning for New York City theatre plays. She had a supporting part in the 1998 Broadway musical High Society when she was 12 years old. She went on to play a supporting role in Stephen Sondheim’s musical A Little Night Music, which premiered at the New York City Opera in 2003.
In the musical picture Camp, she made her film debut. In Rocket Science (2007), she portrayed an ambitious high school debater. Kendrick starred in the 2012 film What to Expect When You’re Expecting, which was based in part on the same-named pregnancy handbook.
