He and his brother Michael are co-owners of Djarum Group, which produces about 14% of Indonesia’s cigarettes. After a fire almost destroyed the organisation in 1963, Djarum backed up and modernised its tools in the factory. Djarum began selling their product abroad in 1972. After 3 years the brand Djarum Channel was presented, the main brand to be delivered by machines, followed by the brand Djarum Super, presented in 1981.
