He participated in the KF3 division in 2011 and took home the ERDF Junior Kart Masters, CIK-FIA KF3 World Cup, and CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy. Leclerc also joined Nicolas Todt’s All Road Management company over the course of the year.
Leclerc switched to single-seaters in 2014 and competed for the British team Fortec Motorsports in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps championship. Leclerc was signed by Scuderia Ferrari for the 2019 season, taking the place of Sauber’s 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen. Leclerc’s contract was initially only announced for 2019, but a few days later, then-Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene said that it would be for four seasons, “at least until 2022.”
