Clive Calder Career
Calder was born on 13 December 1946. Together with Ralph Simon, Calder established his first record label in South Africa in 1971. Calder and Simon established Zomba as an artist and producer management company in London by 1975. By 1978, Zomba had extended its music distribution and opened workplaces for New York City.
With the assistance of new hire Barry Weiss, Calder began to establish Jive as an important outlet for hip hop and rap music in 1981 when he and Simon established their first record label, Jive. The Zomba Mark Group, which had been established by BMG as parent for all Zomba names in 2004, was coordinated with every one of its names into BMG Mark Gathering in 2007, while simultaneously the Zomba brand stopped existing.
Under Sony Music, the group changed its name to RCA/Jive Label Group in 2009, and in October 2011, Jive Records and the Jive brand as a whole were discontinued. Their most successful artists were moved to RCA Records and, in part, Epic Records.
