Francoise Bettencourt Meyers is a prominent figure in the business and philanthropic worlds. Francoise Bettencourt Meyers was born in Paris, France, to Andre and Liliane Bettencourt on July 10th, 1953. She is the daughter of Liliane and Albert Bettencourt and the only child of this union. Her father owned the influential cosmetics firm L’Oreal. However, Francoise showed no interest in taking over his business and instead pursued her passion for literature. She attended prestigious lycees throughout her schooling years before earning her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Sorbonne University located in Paris, France, at only 21 years old!

She inherited a 33% stake in L’Oreal from her late mother, who has a long-running legal battle over her estate. As president and chairwoman, Francoise has a proactive approach to the large organization, with close to 88,000 employees experiencing steady growth under her guidance.
