Richard Kinder is an American businessman. Richard Kinder is chairman of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, Baker Hughes, Transocean, and Waste Management boards, as well as a national board member of the Smithsonian Institution. He got a BA in 1966 and a JD in 1968, both from the College of Missouri. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity while he was in college. He ran for Bush-Quayle in 1992, Bush-Cheney in 2004, John McCain in 2008, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and Tom DeLay. He is a Republican. In 2014, Kinder was recorded as Forbes’ Most extravagant Individual in the US. By providing transformation grants in the areas of urban green space, education, and quality of life, the Kinders set up the Kinder Foundation to help Greater Houston become a model city for economy and quality of life. The Kinder Foundation has given more than $506.9 million in gifts as of December 2022.
