Liu Yongxing is a successful Chinese entrepreneur, the founder, chairman, and CEO of East Hope Group, a major player in the agribusiness, chemical, and non-ferrous metal industries. He is also actively involved in several other roles, including serving as the honorary president of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce in Sichuan, a part-time professor at China Agricultural University, an MBA lecturer, and a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC.

In 1982, with only 1,000 RMB, the brothers founded the Hope Group, which focused on raising quail and hatching chickens in Sichuan Province. They established the Hope Research Center for animal feeds in 1986. Liu’s wife, a trained psychologist, and he have a child, and they reside in Shanghai. Despite his immense wealth, Liu remains committed to philanthropy and has donated millions of dollars towards charitable causes, including education and disaster relief efforts.

In 1995, the Hope Group underwent a restructuring process that resulted in the division of the company into four distinct entities, each owned by one of the siblings. Chen Yuxin took over the West Hope Group, Liu Yonghai became the owner of the New Hope Group, and Liu Yongyan took control of the Continental Hope Group. Meanwhile, Liu Yongxing retained a portion of the agricultural business while branching out into heavy chemical and aluminium production. These endeavours ultimately led to the creation of the East Hope Group, which was established in 1995 and has since become one of the largest aluminium producers in the world.
