Usher Raymond IV is a singer, composer, and dancer from the United States. He began his career in the R&B genre with his self-titled debut album Usher (1994), and came to prominence in the late 1990s with the release of his second album My Way (1997). His third studio album, 8701 (2001), yielded the number-one singles “U Remind Me” and “U Got It Bad,” as well as the number-three hit “U Don’t Have to Call.”
Usher Career
Usher joined the NuBeginnings, an R&B local quintet created by local music promoter Darryl Wheeler, when he was ten years old. In 1991, Usher recorded ten songs with the group, and the resulting album, Nubeginning Featuring Usher Raymond IV, was only released regionally and by mail order.
Usher met A.J. Alexander at a local talent event in Atlanta when he was 13 years old. Alexander, who was Bobby Brown’s bodyguard at the time, would drive Usher around and make him perform at parking lots and talent showcases. Bryant Reid, an A&R representative from LaFace Records, was invited to witness Usher perform on the television talent show Star Search by Alexander.
Usher lost his voice while working on his debut album. Usher was going through puberty and was having trouble adjusting his voice. LA Reid became wary about Usher and postponed the release of his album; he considered dismissing him from the label. Usher begged the label to keep him, and they agreed.
Usher Relation
Usher began dating TLC member Chilli Thomas in 2001, and their relationship lasted three years. Usher began work on the album that would become Confessions in 2003, which comprised songs inspired by Usher and his collaborators’ personal lives.
Usher was rumored to have dated British supermodel Naomi Campbell for a few months in 2004, attending the MTV Europe Music Awards together and it was reported that Campbell leaped out of a pop out cake to surprise him on his birthday.
