British businessman Anthony Paul Bamford is chairman of J. C. Bamford (JCB). At the age of 30, he took over for his father, Joseph Cyril Bamford, as chairman and managing director of the business in 1975. He was knighted in 1990 at 45 years old. After speaking out in 2012, Bamford commissioned a report in 2012 on the need for the UK Government to promote manufacturing in the UK and sent it directly to David Cameron. When he assumed the title “Baron Bamford” of Daylesford in the County of Gloucestershire and of Wootton in the County of Staffordshire in August 2013, he was elevated to the House of Lords.
