American software developer and billionaire businessman Jim Goodnight Since 1976, he has been CEO of SAS Institute, a leading software company for business analytics. He worked as a software developer for the agricultural economics department one summer. Goodnight was a member of the NC State Beta-Beta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon. In 1968, Goodnight earned a master’s degree in statistics. He likewise worked at an organisation building electronic gear for the ground stations that spoke with the Apollo space containers. While chipping away at the Apollo program, Goodnight encountered a workplace with a high turnover rate and this moulded his perspectives on corporate culture. After working on the Apollo project, Goodnight went back to North Carolina State University, where he got his PhD in statistics and taught there from 1972 to 1976.
