Samuel Yen-Liang Yin is a philanthropist and billionaire from Taiwan. He is most popular for the foundation of the Tang Prize, and as director of the Ruentex Monetary Gathering, a Taipei-based combination. The gathering has three public Ruentex organisations in Taiwan and is associated with materials, land, clinical and schooling ventures. It also owns Nan Shan Life Insurance, a privately held insurance company that was worth $16.1 billion in 2022.

Samuel Yen-Liang Yin was born On August 16, 1950. Chinese Culture University was where Yin studied history. He got a graduate degree in business at the Public Taiwan College in 1982, and a PhD in business at the Public Chengchi College in 1986. In 2004, the Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering awarded Yin the title of fellow. Samuel Yin received the Engineering Prowess Medal, the academy’s highest honour, and an invitation to join Russia’s International Academy of Engineering in 2008.

The Ruentex Financial Group, which makes investments in China and Taiwan, is led by Yin. Ruentex is best known for its investments in construction and RT Mart, a grocery and retail chain. He is regarded as a proponent of entrepreneurship and start-ups in both Taiwan and China. Yin was named as one of the primary investors in Taiwan’s electric scooter startup Gogoro in 2014.

In December 2012, Yin established the Tang Prize with $100 million of his own money. It is said that the award is like the Nobel Prize for Asia. The prize’s mission is to encourage research that is beneficial to humanity and the world, promote Chinese culture, and improve the world. The award pays out what could be compared to US$1.7 million in classes of manageable turn of events, biopharmaceutical science, sinology and law and order.

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) presented Yin with Henry L. Michel Award for Industry Advancement of Research in 2010 for his work in construction technology research. He was the first recipient of the honour without an engineering background.
